Finding Your Footing
Green Heron Counseling offers a thoughtful blend of evidence-based therapy and holistic care. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we explore the broader context of your life—including relationships, identity, values, community, and lived experiences—to support meaningful and sustainable change.
Together, we slow down and approach your experiences with curiosity rather than judgment, making space to better understand what you're feeling and why. Compassion guides the process as we work to meet even the most difficult thoughts and emotions with care instead of criticism. Over time, this work can support a deeper sense of connection—to yourself, your values, and the life you want to build.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or in a period of transition, therapy can help you make sense of your experiences and move toward a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and aligned with who you are.
Meet Odessa
Hi, I'm Odessa Peters, MA, LMHC, the therapist behind Green Heron Counseling. I provide affirming, evidence-based therapy for teens (13+) and adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, OCD, depression, identity exploration, and the experiences that can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves.
I take a holistic approach to therapy, viewing each person as a whole rather than a collection of symptoms. I believe our mental, emotional, physical, social, and environmental experiences are deeply interconnected and all play a role in our well-being. My work is grounded in creating a warm, collaborative space where you can show up authentically, feel understood, and explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion. I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, along with experience supporting individuals with OCD across multiple levels of psychiatric care.
I believe meaningful change happens within a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we'll create an approach that honors your goals, values, strengths, and lived experiences—not just your symptoms. My hope is to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with the parts of you that may have been overlooked or burdened, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned with who you are.
