Individual Therapy
Healing begins with curiosity.
Life has a way of pulling us away from ourselves. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, navigating a difficult season, or simply trying to make sense of your experiences, therapy offers an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with yourself.
At Green Heron Counseling, I believe meaningful change doesn't begin by trying to fix ourselves. It begins by approaching our experiences with curiosity instead of judgment, compassion instead of criticism, and creating space to better understand the whole person—not just the challenges that brought us to therapy.
Reasons People Reach Out
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be navigating:
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Anxiety
Depression
Life transitions
Identity exploration
Self-doubt
Perfectionism
Stress and burnout
Relationship challenges
Emotional awareness and self-compassion
Whether you're facing a specific challenge or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can offer a space to explore what healing looks like for you.
Specialized Training in OCD & ERP
I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). My experience treating OCD includes several years of supporting individuals across higher levels of care and outpatient settings.
ERP is a highly effective, evidence-based approach that helps individuals gradually face feared situations while reducing compulsive behaviors, creating opportunities to respond differently to anxiety and uncertainty.
While ERP is one of my specialties, it is only one part of my approach to therapy. I believe lasting healing comes from integrating evidence-based treatment with a holistic understanding of each person's story, strengths, relationships, and values.
My Approach
I take a holistic, collaborative approach to therapy, viewing each person as a whole rather than a collection of symptoms. Together, we'll explore not only the difficulties you're experiencing, but also the relationships, identities, values, strengths, and lived experiences that have shaped who you are. My role is not to tell you who you should become. Rather, I hope to walk alongside you as you better understand yourself, navigate life's challenges, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked, burdened, or lost along the way.
What Therapy May Feel Like
No two therapy journeys are the same.
Some sessions may focus on learning practical tools and strategies. Others may involve exploring long-standing patterns, processing difficult emotions, or gently challenging beliefs that no longer serve you.
There will be moments of insight, moments of discomfort, moments of celebration, and moments of simply sitting together in the uncertainty. Through it all, my hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move toward a life that feels more connected to who you are.
