Group Therapy

Healing Doesn't Always Happen Alone

While individual therapy offers space for personal reflection and growth, group therapy provides something uniquely powerful—the opportunity to heal in connection with others.

There is something deeply validating about discovering that you are not alone in your experiences. Within a supportive group, members have the opportunity to learn from one another, practice new skills, and witness both their own growth and the growth of others. Group therapy reminds us that healing doesn't have to happen in isolation—it can be strengthened through shared experiences, understanding, and community.

At Green Heron Counseling, I envision creating groups that offer a thoughtful balance of evidence-based practices, meaningful conversation, and genuine connection. My hope is to create spaces where people feel safe enough to be themselves, explore their experiences with curiosity, and support one another with compassion.

Why I Believe in Group Therapy

My appreciation for group therapy has grown through experiences facilitating groups across both higher levels of care and outpatient settings.

I've led skills-based and process-oriented groups within Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs, where individuals learned practical coping strategies, reflected on their experiences, and practiced applying new skills in their daily lives. I've also co-facilitated an outpatient Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) group for individuals navigating OCD, combining exposure work with meaningful conversations about the unique challenges of living with OCD.

These experiences reinforced something I continue to believe: there is a unique kind of healing that happens when people realize they are not carrying their struggles alone. While every person's story is different, there is something profoundly meaningful about being witnessed, understood, and encouraged by others walking a similar path.

Current Group Offerings

At this time, there are no therapy groups currently enrolling.

As Green Heron Counseling continues to grow, I look forward to offering thoughtfully designed therapy groups that reflect the same values found in my individual work: evidence-based care, meaningful connection, and a holistic approach to healing.

Future offerings may include groups centered around OCD, anxiety, self-compassion, or other shared experiences based on community interest and need.

If you're interested in participating in a future therapy group, I invite you to reach out through the Contact page. I'd be happy to let you know when new groups become available.

Healing Through Connection

Connection is one of the guiding values of Green Heron Counseling.

While healing often begins by understanding ourselves, there is something profoundly meaningful about discovering we don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. My hope is to create groups where people can show up authentically, explore with curiosity, support one another with compassion, and experience the healing that can happen in community.
